Real Rockets, Space Toilets & Floating with the Stars: Our Day at Kennedy Space Center πŸš€πŸŒŒπŸ‘¨β€πŸš€

By: Two Space Fans (and One Seriously Obsessed Dad)

After watching *a lot* of SpaceX launches from our TV at home, we finally made it to the real thing β€” Kennedy Space Center! The moment we pulled in and saw a gigantic rocket towering above us, we knew this would be a day we’d never forget.

Rockets, Buses & Real Launch Pads πŸš€πŸšŒ

We started our day by boarding a special bus that took us through the actual launch sites used by NASA. Dad was geeking out the whole time β€” and honestly, we were too! The bus ride felt like a backstage pass to the universe.

Once we arrived at the Visitor Complex, we explored the Rocket Garden (where real rockets are on display) and checked out the Astronaut Hall of Fame, which honors the heroes who’ve traveled into space. It was cool seeing their suits and learning how each mission helped make history.

Lunch with an Astronaut (and a Funny Ice Cream Story) πŸ½οΈπŸ‘¨β€πŸš€

One of the best parts of the day was our Lunch with an Astronaut experience. We got to hear all about his four missions to space during a Q&A session over lunch. He told us what it’s like to float in zero gravity, live on the space station, and yes β€” use the toilet in space.

Fun fact: He actually doesn’t like astronaut ice cream (which made Mom laugh because she bought some as a souvenir).

Space Shuttle Atlantis: HUGE and So Cool πŸ›°οΈβœ¨

The moment we walked into the Space Shuttle Atlantis exhibit, our jaws dropped. The shuttle is massive β€” and seeing it up close felt like meeting a real-life superhero. It’s the same one that flew in space 33 times!

Our favorite part? Not gonna lie… it was the space toilet on display. Seriously, it’s weird and fascinating at the same time!

IMAX = Floating with the Stars 🎬🌠

To finish our adventure, we watched a space documentary on the giant IMAX screen. There were moments when it felt like we were actually floating among the stars. The 3D views of Earth from space were incredible β€” like riding along with the astronauts.

Final Thoughts: Kennedy Space Center is Out of This World

From real-life rockets and shuttles to astronaut stories and cosmic movies, our trip to Kennedy Space Center was one of the most educational (and fun!) days ever. Even if you’re not as into space as Dad, you’ll still have a blast.

Next stop: training to be astronauts ourselves… or at least learning how to use the space toilet.
