Ski School, Tree Runs & Cookie Cabins: Our Snowy Adventure at Beaver Creek 🎿🍪🏔️

By: Two Snow-Loving Ski School Grads (and One Brave Dad)

First things first — Beaver Creek Mountain is HUGE! When we got there, we couldn’t believe how tall it was! Some of the trails looked super exciting (and a little scary), but we were ready to hit the slopes. Since we arrived later in the afternoon, we headed straight to the ski shop to get our gear… then it was dinner, bedtime, and dreams of powder!

Ski School = Friendly Instructors + Epic Days on the Mountain ⛷️❄️

In the morning, our parents dropped us off at Beaver Creek Ski and Snowboard School. The instructors were super friendly, and since we’re different ages, we were placed in different groups on different parts of the mountain. But the best part? We still got to see each other at lunch and at Cookie Cabin!

We even spotted our parents — Dad was skiing like a pro, and Mom was taking lessons (she’s getting there 😄). We shouted her name when we saw her skiing below us while we were on the chairlift — she looked up and laughed!

Cookie Cabin + Hot Chocolate = Best Reward Ever 🍫🍪

One of our favorite parts of skiing at Beaver Creek was the gondola ride. Going up was fun, but coming back down was even better because it meant warm cookies and hot chocolate were waiting at the bottom. Beaver Creek is known for handing out free chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon — and yes, we made sure to get them every single day!

Post-Lesson Fun: Tree Runs & Chairlift Cheers 🌲🚫😂

Ski school ended at 3:00pm each day, so we still had time to ski with our parents for about an hour. That’s when things got really fun — we found some tree runs with signs that said “No Adults”. Of course, we dared Dad to come with us. He did… and let’s just say, a low branch almost took him out! (Sorry, Dad — but you survived!)

Leveling Up: Ski School Success! 🏅🎿

After three awesome days of lessons, we both moved up to the next level in ski school. We were so excited — and our parents were super proud. The instructors were great about helping us learn new skills and build confidence on the mountain. We can’t wait to come back next season and level up again!

Pro tip: Never skip Cookie Cabin, and maybe duck when skiing with Dad in the trees!
