Dinner in a Snowcat?! Our Epic Night at Zach’s Cabin in Beaver Creek ❄️🍽️🚜
By: Two Bundled-Up Kids and Two Champagne-Sprayed Parents
If you’ve ever dreamed of riding up a snowy mountain in the back of a snowcat and eating dinner in a place that feels straight out of a winter fairytale… you HAVE to check out Zach’s Cabin in Beaver Creek. We didn’t even know you could go to dinner in a tractor, but now we think it might be the coolest way ever to get to a restaurant.
The Ride Up: Freezing, Fun & Full of Blankets 🛷🧣
When we showed up at the pickup spot and were told to hop into the back of a snowcat (basically a tractor made for snow), we were totally pumped. Our parents told us to dress warm — and we did — but then they handed us blankets too. At first, we thought they were overreacting… but once we started heading up the mountain, we learned quick: it. was. FREEZING. ❄️
Snow was falling, the wind was blowing, and we were all cuddled up under the blankets laughing the whole way up. Total winter wonderland vibes!
Zach’s Cabin = Cozy Magic in the Snow 🌲🔥
At the top of the mountain, we saw Zach’s Cabin glowing in the snow — it looked like something from a storybook. Inside, there were cubbies for all our extra jackets, gloves, and hats, and our table was right by a huge roaring fireplace.
The food was awesome — we had chicken, mashed potatoes, and green beans. But the REAL showstopper was dessert: a giant pot of melted chocolate surrounded by cookies, brownies, and fruit. Chocolate fondue = total win.
Friendly Staff, Matching Outfits & Champagne Water Guns 🍾😂
The staff was super nice. We even joked that Dad matched them — everyone was wearing red plaid! 😂
Mom and Dad were also impressed with the wine guy (we didn’t care, but they talked about him a lot), and the bartender had a special trick up his sleeve — a champagne water gun. Yes, really! He went around squirting champagne into guests’ mouths! First Dad tried it, then Mom went TWICE. We couldn’t stop laughing!
The Ride Down = Lesson Learned 🛷💡
After dinner, it was time to head back down the mountain. We were a lot smarter this time and sat toward the front of the snowcat, where there’s a cover and it’s way warmer. On the way up, we were in the back — and froze! We were still wrapped in blankets, but at least we weren’t shivering.
Final Thoughts: A 10/10 Snowy Dinner Adventure
Zach’s Cabin was one of the coolest dinners we’ve ever had — from the snowy tractor ride and the magical mountaintop setting to the amazing food and hilarious moments (Champagne water guns, anyone?), this is the kind of experience we’ll be talking about forever.
Pro tip: bring your warmest clothes, sit up front on the snowcat, and save room for that chocolate fondue!
