Lightsabers, Slinky Dogs & Screams: Our Epic Day at Hollywood Studios! 🎢🌟⚔️
By: Two Theme Park Pros (and One Star Wars Obsessed Dad)
If we had to pick a park that everyone in the family loved, Hollywood Studios would be at the top of the list. Between the thrill rides, hands-on experiences, and all the Star Wars hype (especially from Dad), this day was packed with action, laughs, and… a few screams.
A Galaxy Not So Far, Far Away: Star Wars Launch 🚀🌌
We had to start the day in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge — mainly because Dad had been talking about it for a whole month. And honestly? It lived up to the hype.
✨ Rise of the Resistance
This ride is perfect for the whole family. There’s a small surprise drop (don’t worry, even Charlie handled it fine), but the whole experience feels like you’re *inside* a Star Wars movie. The line moves through three interactive pre-shows, which makes the wait go by super fast — and keeps everyone entertained!
✨ Smugglers Run
Mom and Dad let *us* fly the Millennium Falcon… big mistake! Let’s just say the ship took a few hits. This ride is hilarious when you’re in the pilot seat, and even more fun if you like pressing a lot of buttons.
✨ Lightsabers & Droids = Next-Level Cool
After the rides, we built our own lightsabers and droids. It was amazing — even Mom, who doesn’t really watch Star Wars, got super into the creative part. She and Charlie built a droid together while Carter and Dad went full Jedi mode on the lightsabers. (Dad wanted to make one too, but Mom reminded him the rule: *two per family!* 😂)
Don’t forget to check out the BB-8 water bottles — they’re adorable and actually useful on a hot day!
To Infinity… and Andy’s Backyard! 🧸🎢
Next stop: Toy Story Land, where it literally feels like you’re the size of a toy. The level of detail is incredible — from giant footprints to popsicle stick benches and even green army men marching around.
- Slinky Dog Dash: Fast, fun, and full of swoops! Don’t miss the drawing Slinky made in the queue — it’s hilarious.
- Alien Swirling Saucers: Spin, spin, giggle, spin. Repeat.
- Toy Story Mania: A 3D shooting game where everyone gets competitive (we won’t say who scored lowest… *Dad*).
Heads up: “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” will be stuck in your head for the rest of the day. Guaranteed.
Closing with Screams: Tower of Terror 🏨😱
To wrap up the day, we couldn’t leave without taking on the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Except… Charlie bailed. Even though he watched the *Behind the Attraction* special, the screams echoing from the building were enough to convince him that he was good *not* knowing what that drop felt like.
Parent Swap to the rescue! Mom stayed with Charlie while Dad and Carter rode — and then they swapped so Carter got to go *twice*. Double win!
Final Thoughts: Lightspeed Fun for the Whole Family
Hollywood Studios was nonstop fun — from building droids and battling in Star Wars to flying through Toy Story Land and conquering thrill rides. With parent swap, immersive lands, and creative extras, this park really has something for every kind of Disney fan (even the Jedi kind 🛸).
Next time: We’re booking a droid parking space and letting Dad fly the Falcon… maybe.
