Cars That Float and Mickey-Shaped Dessert? Our Night at The Boathouse! πŸš—πŸŒŠπŸ¨

By: Two Disney Explorers Who Know a Good Boat Ride (and Dessert) When They See One

If you’re looking for dinner *and* an adventure outside the parks, The Boathouse at Disney Springs is the place to go! We had one of the coolest nights of our whole trip β€” and it all started with a car that literally drives into the water!

Amphicar Ride: Wait, This Car Floats?! 🚘🌊

Before dinner, we hopped into a classic-looking car… except it was also a boat! The captain told us it was called an Amphicar, and before we could ask more questions, we were cruising across Lake Buena Vista.

Just as we were getting into it, it started to rain β€” and the ride got cut short. But here’s the awesome part: they didn’t charge us! Mom was thrilled. Even with the short ride, it was super fun and felt like something out of a movie.

The Boathouse: Food, Fun, and Float-Inspired Seating πŸ›₯️🍽️

After drying off, we walked into the restaurant and saw a boat table β€” yep, an actual boat that’s also a table! We hoped that would be ours, but it was already reserved. (Next time we’re calling ahead!)

Still, our food came in a paper Amphicar-shaped container, which was super fun to play with while we waited for our meal.

  • Carter: Chicken tenders β€” crispy and perfect for dipping.
  • Charlie: Mac & cheese β€” cheesy, creamy, and gone in minutes.

Don’t Miss Dessert: It’s a Mickey Must-Have 🍨🐭

One word: dessert. Okay, three words: Mickey-shaped ice cream. It had a scoop of vanilla for the face and two Oreos for ears. It was cute, delicious, and basically the perfect way to end dinner.

We almost didn’t have room, but we’re so glad we did!

Final Thoughts: Floating Cars + Food = Magical Night

From the surprise Amphicar ride to the Mickey dessert, The Boathouse at Disney Springs was one of our favorite dinners. It’s fun, family-friendly, and full of Disney magic even without stepping inside the parks.

Next time: No rain, boat table reserved, and double dessert. Deal?
