Ski, Soak, and Sweets at The Sundial Lodge in Park City

By: Two Snowy-Sock Survivors with a Sweet Tooth

We just got back from an awesome 5-day ski trip to Park City, Utah, and our hotel — The Sundial Lodge — made everything super easy and fun. It’s in the perfect spot with ski-in ski-out access AND it’s literally next door to Rocket Fizz Soda Pop & Candy Shop (aka paradise for kids like us 🍭).

Mom and Dad kept talking about some movie called Hot Tub Time Machine (???) but we were more focused on the slopes, snacks, and, yes, the hot tub!

Ski-In, Ski-Out = Best Morning Ever

The location of Sundial Lodge couldn’t be better. It’s a 2-minute walk to the Red Pine Gondola, which meant we could go from breakfast to black diamonds (well, green and blue runs for us!) super fast.

The lobby had boot and ski storage, so no clunky walking through the halls in wet gear. We just grabbed our stuff, zipped up our jackets, and hit the mountain. If you’re planning a family ski vacation in Park City, this place is perfect for quick access to the lifts.

The Hot Tub: Our Favorite Amenity

Even though The Sundial Lodge doesn’t have tons of fancy extras, it had one that mattered to us — the outdoor hot tub. After skiing all day, we jumped in every night to relax and splash around. It felt awesome, especially when snowflakes were falling and the steam was rising off the water. ❄️🛁

Charlie said it was his favorite part of the day (besides Rocket Fizz). Carter just liked how warm it was after being freezing on the lifts!

Bonus: Next Door to Rocket Fizz! 🍬

Right outside the lodge was Rocket Fizz Soda Pop & Candy Shop — an entire store filled with crazy sodas, sour candy, chocolate, and stuff we’d never seen before. We stopped in every day after skiing to stock up (don’t tell our dentist).

If you’re traveling with kids, this little bonus makes The Sundial Lodge even more awesome. And Mom and Dad liked that we didn’t have to go far to find a reward after skiing hard!

Final Thoughts: Cozy, Convenient, and Candy-Filled

The Sundial Lodge had everything we needed for a fun, easy, and cozy stay. The ski access was unbeatable, the hot tub was perfect for tired legs, and having candy next door? That’s what we call perfect vacation math.

Can’t wait to go back (and maybe finally watch that time machine movie!)
