Card Ninja at New Victory Theater: Playing Cards, Watermelons & Wow!
By: Two Kids Who Survived a Card Attack (Just Kidding…Kind Of)
If you think playing cards are just for Go Fish — think again. We just saw Card Ninja at the amazing New Victory Theater in New York City, and it totally blew our minds! It was one of the most fun, crazy, and awesome shows we’ve ever seen.
Javier Jarquin, aka the Card Ninja, doesn’t throw ninja stars — he throws cards. And not just little flips… we’re talking fast, flying missiles of playing card fury. It was WILD!
A Ninja… With Cards?! 🎴
So here’s the deal: Card Ninja is part comedy, part magic, and part action movie. Javier turned playing cards into high-speed weapons — he hit cans, targets, and even managed to slice a watermelon… with just a card!
The best part? DAD GOT CALLED ON STAGE. He had to stand totally still with a watermelon on his head while Javier shot cards at it. We were all holding our breath — and laughing like crazy. Don’t worry, Dad’s face is still 100% fine (the watermelon, not so much 🍉).
Why This Show is a Must-See for Families
We’ve seen a bunch of awesome shows at the New Victory Theater — it’s one of the best kid-friendly theaters in NYC — but Card Ninja was one of our favorites.
- It was funny (like laugh-out-loud funny!)
- It was fast-paced — no boring parts at all
- You get to keep some of the cards he throws into the crowd — we each got one as a souvenir!
If your family likes magic, action, and a little silliness, Card Ninja is a must-see.
Final Thoughts: Ninja-Level Entertainment
Javier Jarquin is the real deal — and he somehow made a whole audience (kids and parents) freak out over playing cards. We’ve already told our friends at school to go see it.
And now we want to learn card tricks… but we’re starting with magic, not slicing watermelons. 😅
Thank you, New Victory Theater — you did it again!
