Our Stay at Sleepy Fox: The Biggest House We’ve Ever Seen!
By: Two NYC Kids Living Large in Breckenridge
We’ve lived our whole lives in a New York City apartment, so when we walked into our vacation rental in Breckenridge, our jaws DROPPED. It was called Sleepy Fox — and it was MASSIVE! We’re talking 6 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms. That’s more bathrooms than we even knew what to do with!
It felt like we were staying in a mountain castle — but cooler, because it had a pinball machine, big TVs, cozy couches, and tons of space to play and chill after a long day on the slopes.
So Close to the Slopes!
One of the best parts about Sleepy Fox was the location. It was less than a 5-minute walk to the base of Peak 8, which is where ski school was held. That meant no long car rides or crowded buses — just boots on and out the door!
We could even come back to the house for lunch if we wanted (but we were usually too busy shredding the mountain!).
Charlie’s Favorite: The Outdoor Hot Tub
Every single night after skiing, Charlie had one thing on his mind — a dip in the outdoor hot tub. Even if it was snowing, he was out there soaking and smiling like he owned the place.
He says it’s the best way to relax sore ski legs. Carter agrees, but he also liked beating everyone at pinball. 😉
Big House, Big Fun
There was room for everyone — and we mean everyone. If you’re planning a family ski vacation in Breckenridge with grandparents, cousins, or friends, Sleepy Fox has all the space you need. Plus, it had a huge kitchen, dining area, fireplaces, and places to hang out or have movie night.
It was so comfy and cozy, we kinda didn’t want to leave (except to go ski, of course!).
Final Thoughts: Sleepy Fox = Big Mountain Energy
If you’ve only ever lived in an apartment like us, Sleepy Fox will blow your mind. It made our trip even more awesome, and the location near Peak 8 made it super easy to ski, learn, and relax. The only downside? We had to go home eventually. 😢
Thanks for the memories, Sleepy Fox!
